X-disease or Little cherry virus has NOT been confirmed

1. Scout teams walk blocks and mark suspect trees. Walk every row, look at every tree. Look at both sides of trees (e.g. scout on each side). Lead scout inspects suspect trees and designates symptomatic trees for sampling.

2. Sample suspect trees and send to lab.

3. Remove positive trees

3a. Apply insecticides to vectors before tree removal.
 

3b. Apply herbicide via frill or cut stump method if root grafting is suspected.

3b. Or sample adjacent trees.

4. Remove adjacent trees with herbicide injury or positive  test results.

5. Sample adjacent trees.

6. Send samples to the lab.

7. Remove positive trees. If more than 20%, remove entire block.
